Start with a cost sheet
Record product specifications, quantity, packaging, currency, delivery location and quotation validity. Keep goods costs, domestic charges, international freight and insurance separate. Record the source date and conditions for every estimate.
How these calculators work
The FOB calculator converts goods and domestic costs from CNY to USD, divides by quantity and then by one minus the target margin. The exchange input is CNY per USD. Margin uses revenue as its denominator; markup uses cost.
CFR adds freight per unit to the estimated FOB price without an additional freight margin. CIF divides CFR by one minus 110% of the entered insurance rate. These are explicit estimation assumptions, not a complete contractual cost model.
Before sending the quotation
- Specify the Incoterms version and named port or place.
- Define payment terms, delivery timing and packaging requirements.
- Distinguish cost allocation from risk transfer.
- Check taxes, bank charges, special cargo surcharges and exchange-rate exposure separately.
Use the FOB calculator and the margin and markup tool for cross-checking. Obtain professional advice for the actual contract.
